Future plan: a “real” device

In industrial settings, using smartphones is sometimes not accepted. We had this in mind when the reader was developed. It was the reason for many software design decisions. As a result, the reader also accepts images from sources other than smartphones. Interest provided, we plan to build a device, that makes the imaging independent of smartphones and provides the result to the device. This will combine ease of use and reliability of classic strip reading with the additional benefits of using image processing and cloud computing:

  • Read strips that classic readers cannot process for more choice of parameters
  • Enable LOT correction of the calibration for increased accuracy
  • Easily add new strips or change strips for higher flexibility
  • Optimal connectivity for easy data management

Some of these features work best when connected to the internet. However, data safety policies sometimes do not allow to use external cloud-based services. An on-premise solution meets this need. The reader already runs as Docker Container, the industry-leading container platform. So, it can easily be deployed to the local infrastructure without further connection to the outer world. This may significantly reduce data safety risks. Then, many devices can connect to this on-premise solution providing most if not all benefits of cloud computing without compromising on safety.

A simple REST API then allows to connect the reader to existing imaging and data management solutions. Please contact us to discuss details.
